- Jail Warder (Male):
- Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

- Matron (Female):

Physical Standards:
- Jail Warder (Male):
- Minimum Height: 5 feet 7 inches (5 feet 4.5 inches for Dogras and Gurkhas)
- Chest: 33 inches unexpanded, 34.5 inches expanded
- Vision: Normal in both eyes (with or without spectacles), not color blind
- Matron (Female):
- Minimum Height: 5 feet 3 inches
- Weight: 50 kg and above

The exam pattern for the PSSSB Jail Warder Recruitment 2024 consists of two papers
PAPER- A
Punjabi Qualifying – All the candidates who will secure 50% marks in the Punjabi Qualifying exam, only their PAPER -B will be evaluated.
PAPER- B
The paper B will be of 120 marks and will cover topic General Knowledge, Quantitative ability, Reasoning Ability, Information Technology, Language English/Punjabi, Basic Law and Constitution. The merit list will be calculated as per the marks secured by the candidates in Paper B.
Punjab Police Jail Warder Salary
During the probation period of three years all the candidates will be paid only basic pay with any allowances and benefits. The salary for the Jail Warder and Matron positions is set as per the norms of the Punjab Government.
